CopyTrans Studio: First Checks
CopyTrans Studio works on Windows computers only. CopyTrans software is specially designed for Windows computers to bridge the gap between iOS devices and Windows PCs.
CopyTrans Studio is compatible with all the latest iPhones, iPads and iPods. Please check compatibility information for CopyTrans Studio here.
Please make sure that your version of CopyTrans Studio is up to date. You can also set automatic updates for CopyTrans – to receive them, keep your Internet connection on.
First troubleshooting tips
Please make sure that you’ve restarted your PC after you’ve finished with CopyTrans studio installation (remember that switching it on and off is not the same as restart). Restarting your iPhone should also help: it cleans device cash and restarts all the processes.
CopyTrans Studio can connect to your Windows PC by WiFi, but for the very first connection, please use a USB cable. For perfect connection, please only use original Mfi certified Apple cables. If any trouble, check that your cable isn’t damaged and try another USB port on your computer. If you are sure that the problem is on PC side, check this article: PC doesn’t recognize my iPhone.
Keeping free space on your devices helps to ensures smooth and quick transfers. If you need to clear storage with the help of Copytrans Studio, try transferring small batches at first before doing a full backup.

To check your iPhone capacity and space left, access your Settings app, then General > About.

Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage to check what takes space and to quickly free some Gbs.
To check free space on your PC, open Windows Explorer and click on this PC. You’ll see how much space is left on all of your disks, but the one that interests you the most is the C drive (Local disk). This is the main hard disk that affects your PC’s performance.
TIP: if you don’t have enough free space on your PC, transfer your photos to an external hard drive.
I can’t use my CopyTrans Studio Premium license
Free version of CopyTrans Studio available on our website includes free and premium features (the full list of paid features is available here). If you have purchased a Premium plan, you’d need to activate CopyTrans studio on your PC to unblock those premium features. To do so, use the activation codes we send you after purchase. CopyTrans Studio Free plan allows using the software with up to 5 iOS devices. With upgrading to Premium plan, you can use up to 10 devices.
